Password guidance

Prefer unique, long passwords

Use a different password for every account.
Store generated passwords in a reputable password manager.
Choose a longer value when the account permits it.
Enable multi-factor authentication when available.

Change after compromise

Change a password promptly if it is exposed, reused on a compromised service, or otherwise suspected of compromise. Avoid arbitrary periodic rotation when there is no evidence of compromise.
